In preparation for construction, MCI is currently removing fences, and pruning and removing trees from the Right of Way in the Palm Park Neighborhood, between Redwood at Ebener and Jefferson Avenue. Crews are also working in the Roosevelt neighborhood between South Place and Alameda de las Pulgas. If you live in these areas have a fence on SFPUC Right of Way, it will be removed in the next few weeks. Temporary construction fencing will go up before the heavy construction begins, and fences will be replaced following construction.
If you have any personal property stored in the Right of Way in these areas, please remove it immediately. Also, please keep your pets inside while crews are working.
Thank you!

First Pipeline Segments Arrive on Site!
Exciting news! The first five segments of BDPL5 Peninsula arrived today at the SFPUC right of Way near the intersection of Saint Francis and Quartz in Redwood City. The five-foot diameter steel pipe is being trucked in from Portland, Oregon. Each segment is approximately 40-feet long, and weighs about 20,000 pounds each. More segments will be arriving at this location tomorrow.
On Friday, the excavator that will be used to dig the 14-foot wide trench should arrive on site, and trenching will begin next week.

Construction Begins!
Our contractor, Mountain Cascade, Inc. (MCI) is hard at work preparing for the arrival of the first segments of BDPL5 Peninsula. Next week, you will begin seeing large pieces of pipe arrive along the SFPUC Right of Way.
MCI is currently preparing the Right of Way for construction near Avenida del Ora and South Place in Redwood City, moving West toward Cordilleras. They will remove vegetation, topsoil, fences and any other items that may interfere with construction.
Starting this week, MCI will also be removing fences from the Right of Way between Ebener and Hudson Street. If you live in this area, please make sure the Right of Way is clear.
MCI will also begin pothole operations near Oak Avenue moving east toward El Camino and Nottingham.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation as construction continues. Stay tuned for more updates.
