Thank You Donuts!

Our crew found a nice surprise from a local Redwood City family, a nice big pink box of donuts. It's nice to see that we have support from our local communities, while we are installing the new pipeline. Thank you for such a nice treat and a great way to start the day.

Construction at Hawes Elementary School

Construction began at Hawes Elementary School in Redwood City. Pipes have been delivered and are staged on school grounds. Construction will also be taking place on the SFPUC right-of-way where it passes through part of Hawes Elementary School (on Roosevelt Avenue) and John Gill Elementary School (on Avenue del Ora). Preparation has begun at Red Morton Community Park, and the Kiwanis baseball field (at the corner of Myrtle Street and Madison Avenue) has been fenced off as they prepare for pipe installation. Kiwanis baseball field will be closed, since the pipeline right-of-way passes through a portion of the field.

School is out! Now the real work begins!

The SFPUC Right of Way runs through several schools and parks, and the contractor has a very limited window in which to complete work in these areas. Starting the week of June 14, crews will mobilize at Hawes Elementary in Redwood City and Belle Haven Elementary in Menlo Park. Following this, they will begin work at John Gill Elementary and along Avenida del Ora in Redwood City in July. The school grounds and parks will be restored following the pipeline installation.
Mountain Cascade is continuing work in the Roosevelt neighborhood between South Place and Topaz. Once finished there, crews will move over to the schools.
